VERY WARM DESPITE FILTERED SUNSHINE….
Today is quite the opposite of last Saturday, with very warm
temperatures and a summer-like feel. Skies have remained mostly
cloudy for much of the day, but as these are primarily thin
mid and upper-level clouds, some sunshine has been able to make it
through. Conditions are perfect for those climbing the hill today
for our ‘Climb for Climate’ event to celebrate the upcoming Earth Day!
Despite the cloudiness, temperatures are well above normal, primarily
due to warm air advection on steady southwest flow. This morning the
low temperature was in the low 50s, quickly rising to the low 80s
by the early afternoon. The dew point has climbed a touch as well,
rising from the upper 40s to the mid 50s.
Winds are steady, currently out of the west-southwest, with an average
speed of 16mph. The peak gust to this point is around 30mph, occurring
just after noon.
Visibility remains modest due to haziness, holding at 20 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 80F degrees, which is 22
degrees above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 52F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the
normal low of 39F.
