CLOUDS LINDER TODAY, BUT MUCH DRIER WITH COOL TEMPERATURES….
After yesterday’s just icky weather, which brought a storm
total of 2.02″ of rain (including 1.02″ just from the thunderstorm
on Saturday evening), today has been much improved despite high
clouds lingering over the area. They were thick enough through
the morning to block most of the sun, but they are finally
starting to thin out early this afternoon. All in all, it’s not
a bad day out there at all.
Temperatures are still below normal today as readings have not
been able to even reach 70F so far. Normal highs should be in
the mid 70s at this time of year. Dew point values were in the
upper 40s early this morning, very indicative of fall, but they
have recovered a bit to the low 50s by early this afternoon.
The wind was a bit gusty during the wee hours of this morning,
but really dropped off during the morning and has been generally
light, and at times variable for the last several hours. The
average speed for the day so far is around 9mph, but most of this
is owing to the gustier winds for the first 7 hours of the day.
The peak gust for the day is 21mph, which occurred around 3:30am
this morning.
Visibility has been excellent today, thanks to the nice and dry
air. The view started off at 80 miles, but slipped a bit to
around 70 thereafter. Either way, still a great view!
The maximum temperature so far today is 68F degrees, which is
8 degrees below the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 49 degrees, which is 9 degrees below the
normal low of 58F.
