SUNSHINE THROUGH THIN HIGH CLOUDS WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES….

As we close out the month of September, today has featured mainly
sunny skies with only some high thin cirrus clouds along with dots
of stratocumulus and cumulus clouds around. The clouds haven’t been
enough to inhibit the sunshine that much today. So all in all, it’s
been quite a nice day.

Today will finish on the dry side, as such, the total rainfall for
the month is 1.83″, which is 2.23″ below normal for the month. So
despite the decent amount of rainfall that fell late last week, we
will be finishing the month on quite a dry note.

Temperatures today have warmed into the lower 70s, which is now a
few degrees above normal (the normal high for today’s date is 67F).
The dew point briefly pushed near 60 degrees mid to late this
morning, but has since dropped back into the mid 50s this afternoon.
So after a bit of a humid feel earlier, it has become quite pleasant
this afternoon.

The wind has generally been on the light side today, even going
calm for a time this morning. The average speed for the day so far
is only around 5mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 16mph,
which occurred just before noon-time.

Visibility has been somewhat limited today, this morning by thin
fog, and this afternoon by haziness. The view has been 40-50 miles
all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 71F, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 67F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 54F, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 50F.
