SUNSHINE RETURNS WITH A PLEASANTLY WARM BREEZE THIS AFTERNOON….

An area of showers moved through overnight leaving 0.12″ in
the gauge. Clouds lingered this morning before finally breaking
up as we approached the noon hour. A mix of sun and clouds
have been the theme this afternoon. Temperatures have responded
nicely with readings getting into the low to mid 70s. The
dew point has been dropping off a bit this afternoon making for
a very pleasant feeling day. The dew point was around 60 this
morning, but has dropped into the mid 50s this afternoon.

A nice breeze has been blowing today as well, mainly out of a
southwesterly direction. The average speed for the day so far
is around 12mph with frequent gusts of 20-25mph. The peak gust
for the day occurred way back just after midnight with 33mph
being recorded.

Visibility has improved during the course of the day as well
with views of only 20 miles this morning in thin fog, now up to
an excellent 70 miles this afternoon.

While we’re certainly doing better in terms of rainfall than we
were all summer, we are still running a significant deficit for
the year. The annual deficit is at -10.02 inches, despite the
month of September seeing a 1.01″ surplus!

The high so far today is 73F, which is 4 degrees above the
normal maximum of 69F. The low since midnight is 56F, which is
4 degrees above the normal minimum of 52F.
