OVERCAST, CHILLY, AND RAW WITH OCCASIONAL LIGHT RAIN CONTINUING…
Today marks the 3rd day in a row without any sunshine being
recorded. Clouds have persisted today with occasional light rain
and drizzle being the theme. A total of 1.06″ of rain has been
recorded from this drawn-out storm system, the remnants of
Tropical Storm Ophelia. The heaviest of the rain fell yesterday
afternoon with 0.31″ falling in 1 hour between 2-3pm.
With the persistent clouds and brisk wind off the ocean,
temperatures haven’t had much range between the diurnal cycles.
Readings have generally been stuck in the mid to upper 50s.
The wind has been mainly out of a east-northeast direction with
an average speed of around 14mph. Frequent gusts over 25mph
have been occurring with a peak of 32mph occurring just before
8am.
Visibility has been limited today with the light rain and drizzle
around. It has generally ranged between 10-20 miles with some
periods of lower visibility during periods of a bit heavier rain-
fall.
The maximum temperature so far today has been 60F, which is
9 degrees below the normal high of 69F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 55F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low
of 52F.
