CLOUDS DOMINATE; INTERMITTENT LIGHT DRIZZLE WITH COOL TEMPERATURES….
After being stuck on the “nice” side of the blocking pattern, now
we’re stuck on the unsettled side. Today is yet another day in which
clouds are dominating the sky. Intermittent light drizzle has been
occurring today as the flow remains off the ocean. So far only a trace
has been observed.
Temperatures slowly rose through the 50s this morning, finally
reaching the low 60s early this afternoon. With the dampness in air,
it feels rather chilly today. Definitely a good day for hot soup or
chili!
As mentioned, the wind continues to flow off the ocean, mainly
out of the northeast to east-northeast. It has been gusty at times as
well. The average speed for the day so far is around 10mph. The peak
gust so far is 28mph, which occurred just after 8:30am this morning.
Visibility has been somewhat variable with the areas of drizzle
moving through, but overall it’s been averaging about 30 miles for
most of the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 62F, which is 8 degrees below
the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 52F,
which is 1 degree below the normal low of 53F.
