DRIER AIR MASS MOVES IN BEHIND COLD FRONT….
A cold front moved through the area overnight, and behind it
the dew point has dropped a decent amount, falling into the lower
50s by the late morning. There has been a fair bit of cloudiness,
with altocumulus and cirrus being the most prevalent cloud types
in the morning, followed by cumulus popping up later. Overall though,
there has been plenty of sunshine, and it has been an incredible day to
get outside and enjoy the outdoors.
The temperature began the morning in the low 60s, before rising into
the upper 70s by noon time. As before mentioned, the dew point is much
lower than yesterday, and has fallen further from the mid 50s to 50F by
the last observation at 1pm.
Winds were busier yesterday afternoon through the overnight, and
have now slowed somewhat. The flow is now out of the northwest, with an
average speed of 9mph. The peak gust occurred just after noon time,
with a value of about 24mph.
Visibility has greatly improved as the dry air mass moves in, ranging from
60-80 miles throughout the day!
The maximum temperature so far today is 79F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 77F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 60F.
