BACKDOOR COLD FRONT BRINGS ONSHORE FLOW AND MUCH COOLER AIR….
A backdoor cold front moved through overnight bringing cooler
air from the Gulf of Maine into the region. A few light rain
showers preceded the front last evening leaving 0.04″ of rain
in the gauge.
Today has been overcast with a cool breeze coming in off the
ocean. Temperatures have been held in the low 60s, a good
18-20 degrees cooler than yesterday afternoon here on the Hill.
The high for the day however was back at midnight when it was
66F degrees.
The wind was gusty this morning, but has since diminished into
this afternoon. A peak gusts of 22mph was measured just after
6am this morning. The wind has only been averaging under 10mph
since late this morning.
Visibility has been limited to 15 miles or less due to various
degrees of fog.
The high so far today is 66F, which is 6 degrees below the
normal maximum of 72F. The low since midnight is 56F, which is
1 degrees above the normal minimum of 55F.
