BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
MONDAY OCTOBER 27, 2025
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0612E
SUNSET: 1644E
SUNNY START, THEN CLOUDS ROLLED IN, STILL ON THE CHILLY SIDE….
We started the day with clear skies and a touch of frost for the
first time this season here on the summit. However, clouds quickly
began moving in from the north and northeast as yet another ocean
storm well to our northeast is stuck and trying to back in toward
the region today.
With the cloud cover, temperatures were not rising too quickly by
late this morning and have recovered to the low 50s after starting
the day in the low to mid 30s. Dew points values started off in
the low 30s, but have since risen to the mid to upper 30s as the
wind became more onshore.
A northwest to north-northwest wind early in the day has gradually
veered around to the north-northeast and northeast. Speeds have
not been on the lighter side with an average speed for the day so
far around 9mph. We have seen some occasional gustiness to the
wind, but each period has been brief. The peak gust for the day
so far is 20mph, which occurred just after 9:30am this morning.
Visibility has been very good today, holding generally around
70 miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 51F degrees, which is
6 degrees below the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 34F degrees, which is 6 degrees below the
normal low of 40F.
