A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES AT BLUE HILL…
We’ve seen varying amounts of cloud cover today, but the trend
has been toward more sunshine as we get into the early afternoon
hours.
Temperatures are responding to the sunshine with readings
reaching the low 60s. The dew point has been holding in the
low to mid 40s, keeping things on the very comfortable side.
The wind is much lighter than yesterday with an average speed of
around 9mph so far for the day. The highest gust occurred in
the wee hours of the morning at around 23mph.
Visibility has been excellent today with a view of 70 miles all
day!
The maximum temperature so far today has been 61F, which is 3
degrees above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 42F, which is 1 degree above the normal low
of 41F.
As we continue to remain above normal in the minimum temperature
category, we are actively tracking when we will have our first
low temperature below 40F. If it does not happen tomorrow, 2023
will end up ranking first for the latest temperature below 40.
Here are the current rankings as compiled by our Chief Scientist,
Mike Iacono.
BHO Latest First Minimum Temperature Below 40 deg F (1885-2023):
1) 24 October 2013 (36F)
24 October 2021 (37F)
3) 22 October 1955 (34F)
4) 21 October 2005 (39F)
5) 20 October 1960 (38F)
6) 19 October 2014 (39F)
