INVERSION PRESENT THIS MORNING, TEMPERATURES
CLIMB FROM OVERNIGHT LOW OF 50F INTO THE MID 70S
Temperatures have slowly moderated over the past
couple of days, with temperatures expected to break the
70F degree mark today. Daily normal highs for this part
of October typically run in the lower 60s.
An inversion was present this morning with a completely
clear sky overhead. Thin fog under the inversion limited
visibility to just 20 miles, while mountain tops to the
W and NW were clearly visible above the inversion in the
distance.
By today’s 1:00 PM EST observation skies were almost completely
clear except for a few thin cirrus and cirrocumulus lenticularis
toward the North and West. Temperatures were running much warmer
than normal, with a maximum temperature so far of 75F.

over the city (north), thin fog in all directions

inversion limiting visibility
