YESTERDAY’S SNOWFALL OF 1.8 SETS NEW DAILY SNOWFALL
RECORD, WINDS GUST TO 46 MPH
Yesterday’s Nor’easter stuck around just close enough
during yesterday’s morning hours to produce the first
snowfall and sub-freezing temperatures so far this season.
Snow that began falling at 6:50 AM EST continued throughout
the day, falling moderately with fog during the mid morning.
Snow began accumulating to 1.8 inches on the ground before
melting somewhat in the evening.

NEW RECORD 1.8 in 2014
An overnight low, reached just before sunrise of 30F is
the coldest reading so far this season. This is the latest
first freeze since 30F was recorded on 4 November, 2004. The
mean date for the first freeze is 20 October. Extremely clear
conditions have prevailed this morning with visibilities
of 80 miles visible in all directions with gust NW winds.
