OVERNIGHT RAIN SHOWERS END, CLOUDS AND SOME SUN REMAIN WITH
CONTINUED MILD TEMPERATURES….
We finally got a little rainfall overnight, but it didn’t amount
to much with only 0.08″ being measured. This is also the total
for the month to date, which is 1.38″ below normal. We’ll take
what we can get, but this obviously didn’t do much to improve the
drought conditions across the region. As such, caution will still
need to be taken with any outdoor burning, which is simply not
recommended at all for the time being.
A mix of sun and clouds has been the theme through the day as
diurnal heating helps to develop stratocumulus that are dotting
the brilliantly blue sky.
Temperatures are still mild for this time of year with the
overnight low still a solid 15 degrees above normal. Readings have
reached the mid 60s early this afternoon which is a solid 10+
degrees above the seasonal levels expected for this date.
The wind remains on the busy side with a west to west-southwest flow
averaging around 17mph so far for the day. Frequent gusts over 25mph
have been occurring as well, with a peak gust so far for the day of
40mph, which occurred at 4:15am this morning.
Visibility has been improving through the day, starting the day
around 50 miles, and reaching 70 miles by 1pm observation.
The maximum temperature for the day so far is 64 degrees, this is
12 degrees above the normal high of 52F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 50F degrees, which is 15 degrees above the normal
low of 35F degrees.
