MOSTLY GRAY SKIES FOR MEMORIAL DAY….

Weather-wise, today is undoubtedly the worst of the holiday weekend.
We began the morning in dense fog, which lifted around 9am. A fog bank
remains to our north through the 1pm observation, likely along a warm front.
Heading into the afternoon, we have experienced some breaks of sunshine,
but cumulus and stratocumulus clouds fill the majority of the sky.

Temperatures were slow to rise this morning, going from the low to mid 60s
by noontime. With some breaks of sun, we have now made it to the lower
70s, and will likely climb a bit further. Dew points have risen as well, from
the low to mid 60s.

Winds have been on the slower side yet again, with an average to this point
of 6mph. Since the 1pm observation, however, a notable increase in speed has
taken place. Our peak gust to this point occurred at 1:03pm, with a speed of
approximately 28mph.

Visibility has improved since this morning, when views were limited to
1/16 of a mile by dense fog. As the cloud base has lifted, the view has improved
modestly. The prevailing visibility has reached 30 miles, but remains lower to
the north, again due to the fog bank in place.

The maximum temperature so far today is 73F degrees, which is
3 degrees above the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F degrees, which is 10 degrees above the
normal low of 51F.
