DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
MONDAY, MAY 25, 2015 MEMORIAL DAY
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
MOSTLY CLOUDY BUT DRY AGAIN TODAY WITH WARM TEMPERATURES
Our dry month has continued at the summit on this Memorial Day, with only
0.63 inches of rain so far this month. The day began partly cloudy, but
clouds began to dominate by mid-morning and into the afternoon, with a warm
front pushing through the region. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures
have been on the warm side of normal, with a morning low of 56F and a high
so far of 80F. May is running about 4 degrees above average so far, and
with a warm end to the month expected this May should rank among the warmest
on record here at Blue Hill. Winds have been steady at about 10mph, mainly
from the SW. Hazy conditions have limited the visibility to about 40 miles,
and smoke from a brush fire to our northeast has been visible much of the day.
