COOLER AND BRISK TODAY UNDER SMOKE FILTERED SUNSHINE….

Skies have been clear today, well, devoid of clouds at least.
However the pesky smoke layer from the Alberta wildfires continues
to cross high up in the atmosphere creating milky/hazy skies.

Temperatures have been considerably cooler today thanks to a
brisk wind off the ocean. Readings have been held in the 50s all
day.

As mentioned, the wind has been on the brisk side out of mainly
an east-northeasterly direction. The average speed for the day
has been around 14mph so far. Gusts this morning were frequently
surpassing the 30mph threshold, with a peak of 36mph recorded just
before 7am.

Visibility has improved a bit since early this morning. It started
off at only around 20 miles early this morning, but has improved
to around 40 miles by early this afternoon.

The high temperature so far today is 59F, which is 9 degrees below
the normal high of 68F. The low since midnight is 54F, which is 4
degrees above the normal low of 50F.
