ABOVE-AVERAGE HEAT CONTINUES FOR ONE MORE DAY
Yesterday’s maximum of 79F now takes the reigns as the warmest
day of the year so far, with today topping yesterday. Yesterday’s
daily record maximum of 90F, set in 1993, was never in any real
jeopardy of being broken, while today’s record of 88F, set in 2001,
will be monitored a bit more closely.
High cirrus fibratus have slowly filtered in, along with increasing
haze limiting visibility to 45 miles by 10:00 AM EST. By 1:00 PM EST
altocumulus, altocumulus lenticularis and cirrocumulus lenticularis
had formed in the skies above with a maximum of 84F reached so far.
