BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

MONDAY, MARCH 6, 2023
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0612E
SUNSET:  1740E

BRILLIANT SUNSHINE, SEASONABLY MILD, BUT WINDY TODAY ON THE HILL…

There was not a clouds in the sky this morning, however some cirrus
is now moving in from two different directions this afternoon. A
weak system to our west is pushing it’s envelope of cirrus clouds
in from the west. Meanwhile an ocean storm near Nova Scotia is
backing westward and it’s envelope of cirrus can be seen to the
distant northeast moving southwestward. Either way, an abundance
of sunshine continues.

Temperatures are in the mid 40s, which is only a few degrees above
normal for this time of year.

The wind has been quite gusty mainly out of a northwest direction.
The average speed for the day so far is around 15mph. Frequent
gusts over 30mph have been occurring with a peak so far of 39mph.

Visibility has been perfect with views of 80-90 miles today.
We can see the snow covered top of Mt. Monadnock in SW New
Hampshire pretty very clearly!

The high so far today is 46F, which is 5 degrees above the normal
maximum of 41F. The low since midnight is 31F, which is 7 degrees
above the normal low of 24F.
