A FAIR WEATHER DAY, BUT CHILLY WITH A GOOD AMOUNT OF WIND….
Yesterday’s rain amounted to 8/10ths of an inch, bringing
the monthly rain deficit down to -3.18 inches. The annual
deficit is still -3.60 inches.
Today we observed partly cloudy skies and a good amount of
wind. Wind was strong from the west today, with an average
speed of 30 mph, frequent gusts of 40 mph, and a max gust
of almost 60 mph. This kept the observatory rather cool,
as a significant amount of cooler air was brought in from
the west.
Visibility was great at 80 miles, and pressure is rising
rather quickly. There has been an increase of more than
12 millibars since this morning!
The high so far today is 48F, a degree below the normal
high of 49F. The low since midnight is 38F, which
is 7 degrees above the daily normal low of 31F.
