MAINLY CLOUDY AND BREEZY DAY WITH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES…

A large and intense ocean storm well to the southeast of the
region is close enough that high level clouds have been backing
into the area, giving us only some filtered sunshine. Also, this
low combined with high pressure to the north has generated a
decent pressure gradient, as such the wind has been busy today.

Temperatures are once again below normal today with readings only
reaching the upper 30s this afternoon. Combined with a dew point
in the mid 20s and the gusty wind, it feels awfully chilly out
there today.

Winds have been gusty all day mainly out of the northeast. The
average speed for the day so far is around 16mph. Frequent gusts
over 30mph have been the theme today with a peak gust so far of
40mph, which occurred just before 10am.

Visibility has been decreasing as the day progresses. It started
at around 60 miles early this morning, but has dropped to only
35 miles this afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 39F degrees, which
is 8 degrees below the normal high of 47F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 31F degrees, which is 1 degree above the
normal low of 30F.
