ARCTIC BLAST IN FULL SWING, GUSTY WINDS CONTINUE….
An arctic front came through yesterday afternoon accompanied
with numerous snow showers and squalls. A couple of squalls
passed over the hill deposited 0.1″ of snow and 0.01″ of
liquid equivalent. This ended the consecutive days streak
of no measurable precipitation at 12.
Today has continued blustery and very cold for the date with
the temperature only into the low-mid 20s by the 1 P.M.
observation. The record low maximum temperature for today’s
date is 23 degrees set in 1932, however we’ve already gotten
above that, so we’ll see no record for today.
Yesterday marked the 3rd consecutive day to see a peak wind
gust of 50 mph or higher. So it has certainly been a windy
stretch the last few days. Winds continue to be gusty today,
however we have not reached 50 mph. The peak so far today is
48 mph!
As mentioned above, we did have measurable precipitation
yesterday, so the consecutive days of no measurable has been
broken. However the overall dry stretch continues. The monthly
total now stands at 0.14″, which is 2.27″ below normal. The
yearly total is 8.14″ which is 2.69″ below normal to date.
The high so far today is 25F, which is 19 degrees below the
normal high of 44F. The low since midnight is 12F, which
is 14 degrees below the daily normal low of 26F.
