MILDER TODAY, BUT VERY DRY AIR AND A BREEZE KEEPING A CHILLY FEEL…

A bit of cloud cover this morning moved out of the region leaving
us with abundant sunshine for the balance of the day. Temperatures
have been responding nicely with readings reaching the upper 40s
and low 50s early this afternoon.

However the dew point, which started in the mid teens this morning,
has only recovered to the low 20s early this afternoon. This dry
air along with a gusty breeze is keeping a rather chilly feel to
air. As a matter of fact the wind chill has been hanging out in
the upper 30s to low 40s.

As mentioned the wind has been on the busy side, with an average
speed of around 13mph, but with frequent gusts getting to the
upper 20s and low 30s mph. The peak gust so far is 32mph.

Visibility has been somewhat limited due to haziness in the air,
holding generally 40-50 miles.

The high so far today is 49F, which is 6 degrees above the
normal maximum of 43F. The low since midnight is 25F, which
is 1 degree below the normal minimum of 26F.
