ANOTHER VERY PLEASANT DAY WITH WARM DRY AIR UNDER PARTIAL SUNSHINE….

Another spectacular day here at Blue Hill with abundant sunshine
this morning giving way to partial sun this afternoon. Decorative
cumulus clouds have popped up from diurnal heating (the process
known as convection). Temperatures have once again risen into the
mid and upper 70s. The dew point is very comfortable with readings
in the mid-upper 40s! It doesn’t get much better than this in early
June.

The wind has been light and variable for the most part today with
an average speed so far only around 8mph.

Visibility was excellent this morning, but has slipped some into
this afternoon thanks mainly to high pollen counts. Values were
around 60-70 miles this morning, but down to around 50 miles this
afternoon.

Unfortunately we are still holding a hefty deficit in the
rainfall department with the month now 0.66″ below normal,
and the year to date now at 5.68″ below normal. According
to the Drought Monitor, the area is under moderate drought
conditions.

The high so far today is 78F, which is 6 degree above the
normal maximum of 72F. The low since midnight is 56F, which
1 degree above the normal minimum of 55F.
