RECORD BREAKING HEAT AND HAZY CONDITIONS
Today’s maximum temperature by the 1:00 P.M. observation EST was 93F,
which breaks the previous record of 92F set in 1973. Today’s minimum
of 69F currently ties the previous high minimum record set in 1942.
If the temperature does not go over 93F or below 69F for the rest of
the day, the average temperature of 81F will be 16F above normal.
The air has been dry, with relative humidity at 33% at 1:00 P.M.
Winds today have been fairly calm out of the west. Pressure has
slowly been dropping. It has been sunny, with few cirrus and few
to scattered cumulus in the area. Despite the dry air and few clouds,
visibility has been very poor at 25-30 miles with haze lingering all day.
