DECENT AMOUNT OF RAINFALL OVERNIGHT, CLOUDY AND HUMID TODAY…
Rain, heavy at times, moved through the region overnight leaving
0.73″ of water in the gauge. Even a rumble or two of thunder was
observed just after midnight. The rain tapered off very early
this morning leaving us with a lot of low clouds and fog, which
only gradually burned off through the morning, finally lifting
completely early this afternoon.
So far, not much sunshine has been seen, but temperatures are
still rising into the low to mid 70s here on the Hill. The dew-
point has been fluctuating between the mid 60s and near 70 as a
wavy warm front has been straddling the area.
The wind has been fairly steady between 5-10mph most of the day.
The direction on the other hand has been nothing close to steady,
going from the east in the wee hours, to the south and southwest
for a time during mid morning, then to the north and northwest.
The average speed for the day so far has been around 7mph.
Visibility was limited all morning due to fog. We could only see
around 1/4 mile. It has improved markedly early this afternoon
as the clouds and fog have lifted. Views of around 60 miles can
now be seen.
The maximum temperature so far today is 74F, this is 7 degrees
below the normal high of 81F. The minimum since midnight is 63F,
which is equal to the normal low of 63F.
