STILL WARM AND HUMID DESPITE AN ABUNDANCE OF CLOUD COVER….

As has been the case pretty much every morning the past few days,
we started the morning with dense fog here on the summit and
visibility values under 1/4 mile. The fog burned off quickly however
with mainly cloudy skies being left behind. A few peeks of sun has
been seen here and there. If this looks like the same paragraph
from yesterday, it is! We’ve been stuck in a very slow moving
weather pattern, so rinse and repeat has been the theme.

Temperatures have warmed to near 80 despite the lack of sun today.
Dew point values have been on a gradual rise, from the mid 60s
early this morning to the low 70s by early this afternoon. As such,
it’s getting more oppressive out there, and unfortunately this
looks to stick around for the next few days.

The wind has been a bit more robust than yesterday, but still
overall on the lighter side. A mostly south-southwest wind has been
averaging at around 8mph for the day so far. The peak gust for the
day so far is 18mph, which occurred right before 1am this morning.

The fog lifted very early this morning, so we’ve observed 30-40
miles of visibility for all of our observations today. Conditions
are hazy as one would expect with such high humidity levels.

The maximum temperature so far today is 80F degrees, which is
2 degrees below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 65F degrees, which is 1 degree above the normal
low of 64F.
