OVERCAST AND HUMID WITH PERIODS OF RAIN SHOWERS TODAY….

Clouds have dominated today with periods of rain showers which
started during the wee hours this morning. While the rain hasn’t
been steady all day, when it has rained it has been moderate to
heavy at times, especially late this morning and early this
afternoon. 0.02″ of water was in the gauge at 7am, with an
additional 0.58″ falling between 7am and 1pm. A moderate rain
shower was ongoing at the time of the 1pm observation, so some
additional rainfall will be measured.

With the cloud cover and onshore wind, the temperature has been
held in the upper 60s so far today. However with the dew point
also in the upper 60s, it’s been quite humid out there, as one
would expect with decent rainfall.

Winds have been a bit more vigorous than the past couple of days,
but that’s not really saying much. The average speed so far for
the day is around 9pmh. The peak gust so far is around 21mph. The
wind has been mainly out of the east-southeast today.

Visibility has of course been mostly limited today, although
there was a period during the late morning hours where it did
get as high as 30 miles, otherwise is been generally under 10
miles most of the day, and even under a 1/4 mile early this
morning.

The maximum temperature so far today is 70F, this is 12 degrees
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum since midnight is 67F,
which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
