INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS, OTHERWISE TRANQUIL AND COLD….
Not a bad day today all told with increasing high thin cirrus clouds,
but still a good deal of sunshine. The wind has been light all day
which is helping a lot in terms of it not feeling so cold. Plus the
temperatures themselves have risen to the upper 20s and low 30s. It’s
amazing how relative things can be. After spending a couple of days
in the teens and low 20s, the current values feel rather pleasant.
The higher sun angle helps as well.
As mentioned, the wind has been light today, generally averaging
around 9mph. The peak gust for the day has only been 17mph so far.
Visibility isn’t as good as it was yesterday, starting the day around
70 miles at the 7 A.M. observation, but dipping back to around 60
miles by 10 A.M. and holding at that value into this afternoon.
The high so far today is 29F, this is 6 degrees below the normal
high of 35F. The low since midnight is 8F, which is 9 degrees
below the normal minimum of 17F.
