WINTRY MIX YESTERDAY TURNS TO SNOW OVERNIGHT, BUT ONLY LIGHT
ACCUMULATION….

A storm system yesterday into early this morning brought a
potpourri of precipitation types during the day yesterday. The
event started as light rain, then quickly mixed with sleet and
snow, before going back to periods of rain. Sleet did continue
to mix in from time to time most of the day yesterday. Then
last evening, the wintry mix changed to periods of snow that
lasted into early this morning. 0.81″ of liquid was measured
in the gauge from this event. 1.5″ of snow and sleet was
measured on the snow board.

The balance of today to this point has featured overcast skies.
A few flurries were observed between 12-1pm. Temperatures have
been holding generally in the low 30s, so not much melting has
taken place today.

The wind has been busy today out of the north, with gusts
frequently reaching to around 25mph. A few gusts of 30-35mph
have been observed, with a peak of around 38mph occurring just
after 11am. The average speed for the day is around 14mph.

Visibility has been fairly steady at around 30-35 miles today.
The obstruction to the visibility has been due to distant virga
which has been ongoing all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 34F degrees, this is
equal to the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature so far
since midnight is 29F degrees, this is 12 degrees above the
normal low of 17F.
