ARCTIC AIR MASS EASING, A RATHER PLEASANT DAY IN PROGRESS TODAY….

Today has featured plenty of sunshine so far, however high
clouds are starting to encroach from the west and south as our
next system approaches the region. The bite of the arctic air
is easing as temperatures finally get above the freezing mark
for the first time in a week. Also, less wind today is helping
it feel “warmer” for outdoor activities.

The dew point has finally begun to rise from the single digits,
and have reached the mid teens by early this afternoon. This is
further indicative of the arctic air mass gradually pushing out
of the area.

As mentioned, the wind has been lighter today than it has the
past few days. The average speed for the day so far is around
11mph, but the trend has been gradually decreasing as the day
progresses. The peak gust for the day to this point has been
around 20mph, occurring just before 5am this morning.

Visibility has been decent, with a view of 50-60 miles all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 34F degrees, this is
equal to the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature so far
since midnight is 13F degrees, this is 4 degrees below the
normal low of 17F.
