MAINLY SUNNY SKIES, BUT COLD AFTER AN ARCTIC FRONTAL PASSAGE LATE
YESTERDAY AFTERNOON….

There has been an abundance of sunshine today, but with an arctic
air mass in place, it’s on the cold side. As the arctic front
blew through yesterday afternoon, snow showers and squalls moved
through, leaving 0.4″ of snow on the summit as well as a wind
gust to 53mph!

The temperature today has barely made it to 30F (29.5F) through
1pm. The dew point has been holding in the upper single digits,
very indicative of the arctic origin of the air mass.

The wind has been steady, but not nearly as strong as yesterday.
The speeds have generally been around 10mph on average out of
mainly a westerly direction.

Visibility has been decent today with a view of 50-60 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 30F degrees, this is 4
degrees below the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature
so far since midnight is 17F degrees, this is 1 degree below
the normal low of 18F.
