BRISK AND COLD WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….
Cold and dry air has returned after a brief mild spell yesterday.
A little bit of light rain moved through the area last evening,
but only amounted to 0.01″.
Cold air advection took over last night with the temperature
dropping into the mid 20s by this morning. Despite a mix of sun
and clouds today, the temperature has only recovered to the
upper 20s this afternoon. A secondary arctic bourndary is however
approaching the area early this afternoon and promises to bring
renewed cold air advection tonight and through the day tomorrow.
The wind has been busy today averaging around 17mph with gusts
mainly in the 25-30mph range since this morning. However the peak
gust occurred back around 2am with a value of 44mph measured.
Visibility has been excellent today generally running 70-80 miles.
The high so far today was back at midnight which was 36F, which is
1 degree above the normal high of 35F. The low since midnight is
24F, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 19F.
