PERIODS OF CLOUDS AND SUN, EVEN MILDER WITH INCREASING WIND….

The day has had varying amounts of clouds and sunshine. We started the
day with a cloudy period, then had clear skies for a few hours during
the mid to late morning period, but clouds are moving back in again
early this afternoon. Nonetheless, it’s been a rather pleasant day
with milder temperatures and the higher sun angle.

Temperatures have warmed into the mid 40s by early this afternoon
after starting the day in the mid to upper 20s. Today will once again
go in the book with above normal temperatures, something that hasn’t
happened a lot this winter. It’s definitely nice to be able to get
some decent melting this week.

Winds started the day on the light side, with values generally under
5mph for a while during the morning hours. However the wind has finally
settled out of a southerly direction with increasing speeds as we push
into and through the early afternoon hours. The average speed for the
day so far is around 7mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 21mph
which occurred at 12:37pm.

Visibility has been limited to around 40 miles all day due to haziness.

The maximum temperature for today is 45F degrees, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 39F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 25F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 21F.
