COLD AND WINDY AS STORM DEPARTS….

Yesterday’s storm brought a lot of moisture our way! The storm total
liquid equivalent precip ended up at 1.95″. With the arctic airmass
arriving on the storm’s heels, the wet snow and puddles that remained
have turned into a sheet of ice, making it a bit treacherous out there.

The cold air has returned following the frontal passage late last night.
This morning, the low temperature was in the low 20s. With a strong wind
out of the west-northwest, we have only been able to reach the upper 20s
by the afternoon, despite decent sunshine. The wind chill has been stuck in
the upper single digits for much of the day.

The wind is undeniably the main story today! Our average speed for the day
so far is 29mph, with frequent gusts in the 45-55mph range. The peak gust
to this point occurred at 12:45pm, with a speed of 67mph.

Visibility was limited this morning due to virga, which was indicative of some
flurries flying to our north and to our south. Those have since dissipated,
providing us with increased views of up to 70 miles.

The maximum temperature for today is 28F degrees, which is 9 degrees
below the normal high of 37F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 22F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 20F.
