OVERCAST SKIES WITH A BRISK ONSHORE WIND, BUT STILL MILDER THAN NORMAL….

As an ocean storm passes off to the southeast of the region,
clouds and a gusty northeasterly flow off the ocean has been
the theme overnight and through all of the day today so far.
Despite this, temperatures remain on the mild side as there
is just no arctic air anywhere near the region. Not even in
southern Canada! While not as “warm” as yesterday, we’ve still
managed to reach the lower 40s here on the hill.

Also of note, not even a drop of rain has fallen here with
most of the moisture limited to southeastern areas of the
state. Liquid precipitation for the month has only amounted
to 0.01″. This is in stark contrast to the 6.79″ that fell
during the month of January. The month to date is 1.60″ below
normal in terms of precipitation.

As mentioned, the wind has been busy, averaging around 14mph
for the day so far. We’ve seen gusts as high as 25-30mph,
mainly out of the northeast.

Visibility was limited all morning to around 20 miles, but
has improved markedly early this afternoon to around 60
miles as drier air tries to work into the area.

The high so far today is 42F, which is 5 degrees above the
normal maximum of 37F. The low since midnight is 36F, which
is 17 degrees above the normal low of 19F.
