PARTIAL SUNSHINE RETURNS WITH MILD TEMPERATURES AND LIGHT WIND…
Yesterday’s soaking steady rain amounted to 0.82″ in the rain
gauge here at Blue Hill. Rain ended by 2:30am this morning, but
dense fog was left in its wake until the mid morning hours.
Visibility early this morning was as low as 1/16th of a mile.
The fog lifted and breaks developed in the cloud cover during the
mid morning hours, leaving us with a rather pleasant day overall into
early this afternoon. A mix of sun and clouds has been the theme
with improving visibility and a bit drier air working into the area.
Temperatures have warmed into the mid and upper 40s early this
afternoon, but with the light wind, it feels quite nice out there
today.
As mentioned, the wind has been on the light side for the most part
today with an average speed of only around 6mph. However the wind is
showing signs of getting a little busier as the highest gust occurred
right at observation time with 23mph.
Visibility was quite limited early this morning, to around 1/16th
of a mile, due to dense fog. It has improved markedly into this
afternoon however, with the view reaching 70 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 49F degrees, this is 5
degrees above the normal high of 44F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 37F degrees, which is 9 degrees above the normal low
of 28F.
