DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

RAIN TURNING TO SNOW WITH A STRONG
EASTERLY WIND….

Conditions have been rainy today, with moderate snow
beginning in the afternoon following the 1 P.M.
observation. Snowfall yesterday night totaled to 5.8
inches, becoming rain shortly after midnight. Winds
have been strong and easterly, with a max gust exceeding
50 mph. Visibility has been incredibly limited by either
rain, snow, or fog, only reaching 1 mile at most. A trace
of snowfall was recorded between 10 and 11 P.M., when
the wind shifted northeasterly and brought temperatures
down by almost four degrees. The wind then shifted back
to the east, and the light snow turned back to rain.
Between 7 A.M. and 1 P.M., another 0.35 inches was
measured. Around 2 P.M., wind began to blow out of the
north-northeast, bringing with it a moderate, consistent
snowfall.

The daily snowfall record for today is
relatively low and may be surpassed in the
storm.

The current record is:
December 2: 5.0 inches in 1894 and 1929

With 5.7 inches falling yesterday, the record
of 2.0 inches in 1902 has been smashed!

The high so far today is 37F, which is 7 degrees below the
daily normal maximum of 44F. The low since midnight is 27F,
which is a degree below the normal minimum of 29F.
