OVERCAST SKIES WITH A TOUCH OF LIGHT RAIN; A BIT MILDER WITH A
SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW….
A weak system is pushing through the region associated with a warm
front. An area of light precipitation has been progressing over the
area this morning, mainly in the form of very light rain here at the
Hill, but some locales have reported a bit of snow early this morning.
The precipitation has only amounted to a trace through 1pm.
Temperatures are a bit milder today than they have been over the past
few days. The overnight low was only in the upper 20s as opposed to
the mid teens on prior days. Readings have warmed into the low 40s by
early this afternoon. The dew point has also been on the rise, which
is no surprise since the wind is from a maritime direction. Values
have risen from the upper 20s early this morning to the mid 30s by
early this afternoon.
Winds have been fairly steady, but not all that strong. The southeast
to south-southeast wind has been averaging at around 11mph. The peak
gust so far for the day is 22mph, which occurred just before 7:30am
this morning.
Visibility has been variable with the light precipitation moving
through, ranging between 10-30 miles, but has increased to as much
as 60 miles early this afternoon in sectors without virga.
The maximum temperature for today is 41F degrees, which is 1 degree
above the normal high of 40F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 29F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the normal low of 25F.
