EVEN COOLER TODAY, BUT STILL HUMID UNDER MAINLY CLOUDY SKIES….

Overcast skies along with an onshore flow off the ocean is really
keeping temperatures on the cool side today. We did manage to
get to the mid 70s late this morning when a break in the clouds
allowed for some brief sun, however temperatures have dropped
back into the low 70s as the clouds closed the gap and blocked
the sun once again.

A brief rain shower moved through during mid morning, but again,
only amounted to a trace. Interestingly, in the first 9 days of
the month, 6 days has had at least a trace of rain. While we’re
not seeing nearly the measured amounts we saw in July, the
overall theme of frequent rain days seems to be continuing so far.

The dew point continues on the high side with readings in the
mid to upper 60s, but with the nice breeze it doesn’t feel too
bad.

A northeast to east-northeasterly wind has been the theme all day,
at times gusting over 20 mph, however for the most part the wind
has been on the lighter side, averaging between 5-10 mph most of
the day.

Visibility has been quite limited. It was only 1/8th of a mile
early this morning in fog, and has only recovered to around 15
miles early this afternoon with hazy air.

The high so far today is 75F, 6 degrees below the daily normal
maximum of 81F. The low so far today is 66F, which is 2 degrees
above the daily normal minimum of 64F.
