WARM AND HUMID ONCE AGAIN UNDER MAINLY SUNNY SKIES….
Showers and thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and evening
left 0.20″ of rain in the gauge, but brought heavier amounts
to areas just north and south of the Hill.
As for today, skies were mainly clear into early this
afternoon, however both low convective and high cirrus clouds
have begun to increase in coverage as we progress through
the afternoon.
Temperatures have warmed well into the 80s, so it’s another
very warm day out there. The dew point remains in the upper
60s to low 70s, thus the muggy feel continues to be with us.
The combination of the temperature and dew point is still
making the heat index reach the low 90s.
Winds have been decreasing since the overnight hours. The
average speed for the day so far is around 8mph, but it’s
been averaging around 3-4mph for the past couple of hours.
The peak gust for the day to this point is 18mph, which
occurred after midnight.
Visibility has been limited today due to thin fog early this
morning, and general haziness thereafter. The views has been
held to around 25-30 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 88F, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 67F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
