PARTIAL SUNSHINE WITH DEVELOPING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS….
Skies have featured varying amounts of cloud cover today, however
the trend early this afternoon has been for increasing coverage
as showers and thunderstorms develop across the region. While none
of the activity has been near Blue Hill yet, the upper canopy of
the cumulonimbus clouds have overspread the area.
Temperatures have warmed into the upper 70s today with the dew
point in the mid 60s. So while it’s a bit “cooler” today in terms
of actual temperature, the humidity levels are higher continuing
the summer feel out there.
Winds have been generally on the light side, but every now and
then it attempts to pick up a bit. A west-northwest wind early
this morning gradually veered around to an easterly direction.
Overall the average speed so far is only around 7mph. The peak
gust so far is 18mph, which occurred just after 11am.
Visibility has been quite limited today due to thin fog early this
morning, and general haziness thereafter. The view has only been
between 15-20 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 79F, which is equal to the
normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 64F,
which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 61F.
