HOT WITH ABUNDANT SUNSHINE AND SOME
AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS….

We observed a distant haze that increased as
the day went on, bringing visibility from
65 miles to 40 miles. Wind was southwesterly,
blowing at an average of 15 mph. Thunderstorms
occurred this afternoon, with thunder being
heard between 3 P.M. and 6 P.M. Trace amounts
of rain fell within that time, with the majority
missing the observatory. The high so far today
is 92F, 13 degrees above the daily normal maximum
of 79F. The low since midnight is 71F, 9 degrees above
the average daily minimum of 62F.
