HAZY, HOT, AND HUMID WEATHER RETURNS UNDER UNRELENTING SUNSHINE….

Despite some passing cumulus and high thin cirrus clouds,
today is once again featuring an abundance of sunshine. It’s
starting to feel like the summer equivalent of Groundhog’s day
with the same weather everyday! Today is likely day 1 of a 3
or 4 day heatwave this week as the next 2 days at least are
expected to reach the mid 90s.

Temperatures have reached the low to mid 90s early this
afternoon. Dew point values have generally been in the mid 60s
today, thus creating heat index values into the mid, and for a
time, into the upper 90s.

Adding to the discomfort of the day, the wind has yet again
been on the light side out of a mainly westerly direction. The
average speed for the day so far is around 7mph. The peak gust
so far for the day is just 15mph, which occurred just before
3:40am this morning.

Visibility has only been around 25-30 miles throughout the day
thanks to the hazy conditions.

The maximum temperature so far today is 93F degrees, which is
12 degrees above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 67F degrees, which is 4 degrees above the
normal low of 63F.
