Join Us For a Webinar “Winter 2023-2024 Outlook” on November 7

The Blue Hill Observatory invites you to a “Tim Kelley + 1” webinar with meteorologists Tim Kelley and Joe Bastardi to discuss the upcoming winter.

Title: Winter 2023-2024 Outlook
Date: November 7, 2023
Time: 6:30 to 8 PM

Winter is fast approaching and given the recent major weather events taking place all over the globe, the Observatory is eager to explore weather predictions for our winter. On everyone’s mind is this question: Will this season follow the recent trend of low snow fall and warmer temperatures? The Observatory’s Chief Scientist, Mike Iacono, reported that winter 2022-2023 was the fourth warmest on record at Blue Hill with only half of the average snowfall. Read his summary report here.

During our “Winter 2023-2024 Outlook” webinar, the Observatory’s board member, volunteer educator, and renowned meteorologist, Tim Kelley, will be joined by Joe Bastardi, Chief Forecaster with WeatherBell. Joe is well known on numerous major national news outlets for his long range weather forecasting.

Tim and Joe will discuss how this very active hurricane season has some very important clues about how our winter will start off.

Joe will help to connect the dots to what he sees as a possible cold and snowy December and, then, winter gets even more interesting as we enter 2024. We anticipate a lively conversation that will help us all to better understand the weather and climate in New England.
