Join us at the Blue Hill Observatory for a special Earth Day event: “Climb for Climate” on Saturday, April 19, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Celebrate Earth Day 2025 by immersing yourself in the natural setting of Great Blue Hill while climbing to the Observatory with family, friends, or co-workers. Once you reach the top, climbers will tap a LED counter joining a tally of total climbers.
Next our volunteers will capture what “Earth Day Means to You,” which we will share on our website and social media. Below are just a few inspirational quotes from past climbers—
“A day to remember the beauty, power, and rhythm of nature. We are part of the earth, part of nature, not separate.
“Earth day is an annual reminder to protect our natural spaces by getting out and celebrating their beauty.”
“Earth day is a friendly reminded to learn more about preserving the earth for future generations.”
“Start of spring, hike Blue Hills, listen for peepers…”
“We are all sharing this planet and owe it to each other to take care of it. If everybody does a little it means a lot.”
Our goal is to encourage as many climbers as possible to come out and enjoy everything that the Observatory and our stunning location have to offer. This year, we are hosting an all-day “open house” event. Anyone making the climb will have the opportunity to explore the Observatory on their own between 10 AM and 4 PM.
