ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES CONTINUE WITH HAZY CONDITIONS….

It was another warm day in the books for us today on the hill.
Yesterday’s heat netted us a minimum high record of 72F that was
set in 1999 and we tied our maximum high yesterday at 92F which
was set in 2007 and 2015. We are currently 9 degrees below our
record for today’s date and fortunately it doesn’t look like it
will get much warmer, but we will see!

The dew point remained in the 70’s for another day which made for
a very sticky, summer-like feel. Thankfully, the wind helped bring
a little relief, but coming out of the SSW it was fairly warm.

As mentioned, there has been a pretty consistent light breeze out
of the SSW for much of the day with increased wind speeds this
afternoon. Our average speed so far is around 10mph. The highest
gust for today occurred just after our last observation at about
28 mph.

Visibility has been greatly impacted throughout the day. Early
morning fog provided us with only about 1/16 of a mile for
visibility. Once the fog burned off, we were impacted by hazy
conditions from the warm air and high dew points which only gave
us about a 15 mile view for most of the afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today has been 86F, which is
10 degrees above the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 70F, which is 12 degrees above the normal low
of 58F.
