DENSE MORNING FOG LOOMS OVER BLUE HILL FOR MUCH OF THE
MORNING TODAY….

While the weather at the bottom of the hill may have started
out a bit different than the top of the hill, thanks to our slight
elevation we were in the clouds all morning. The fog impacted our
overall visibility and kept temperatures below normal for much of
the day today. The fog did eventually move on and since then we
have had some thick stratocumulus clouds as well as some much needed
sunshine. This morning the hill had a very damp and cool feel and
now it is beginning to dry out and feel more seasonal.

Temperatures stayed on the cooler side today, mostly due to the
overcast and foggy conditions. Once the fog lifted and the sun
was able to warm the hill, temperatures warmed nicely to almost
near normal temperatures. Dew points have increased a bit from
yesterday, holding steady in the lower 60’s throughout the day.

The wind has been out of the ENE for most of the day, with some
slower speeds earlier this morning and becoming a bit more breezy
as the day progressed. The average speed for the day so far is
around 9mph. The peak gust thus far is 21mph, which occurred just
after 12:30pm once the sunshine finally appeared on the hill!

We were in the clouds all day with dense fog on the hill until about
12pm. Visibility was impacted greatly by this, as we ranged between
1/4 to 1/2 mile for all of the morning. By the final observation at
1pm we had ‘improved’ to 30 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 73F, which is 3 degrees below
the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 59F,
which is equal to the normal low of 59F.
