DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2016
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
ATM. PRESSURE CONTINUES TO RISE,
DRY AIR PREVENTS PRECIP. FROM FALLING YET TODAY
Station pressures continue to rise due to the high pressure region to
our north. The highest pressures for the month so far have occurred
today. A low pressure system moving along the south is set to bring
cloudy skies and showers this weekend. Dry air has held off the
anticipated precipitation through the early afternoon.
As of 1:00PM EST, temperatures had risen to a max. of 58F, compared to
a normal max. of 66F. Today is the third day in a row when temperatures
have not broken 60F.
Visibility had improved from 20 miles this morning to 70 miles in the west
and north by the 1:00PM ob, but distant fog remained east and south limiting
visibility to just 30 miles. Skies were again overcast all morning and early
afternoon with gusty winds out of the NE-ENE.
