INCREASING CLOUDS AHEAD OF HURRICANE LEE, MUCH COOLER AND BREEZY….
The air has a crispness to it that can only mean that fall has
arrived. Temperatures dropped into the low to mid 50s this morning
with a dew point that dipped into the upper 40s. A far cry from
the tropical-like air we’d experienced over the last couple of
weeks.
Mainly high clouds are on the increase today as Hurricane Lee
gradually approaches our latitude. It is expected to bring some
gusty winds and rain showers to the area tomorrow, but for now
we get to enjoy a nice dry day today. Temperatures have only
recovered to the mid 60s early this afternoon.
The wind has been busy today averaging at around 13mph. Frequent
gusts over 25mph have been occurring most of the day with a peak
so far of around 31mph.
Visibility has been excellent all day with views of around
70 miles!
The maximum temperature so far today has been 66F, which is
8 degrees below to the normal high of 74F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 53F, which is 3 degrees below the normal low
of 56F.
