WARMING TEMPERATURES CONTINUE AT BLUE HILL TODAY….

This morning we had some upper level clouds and fog and then
increasing cloudiness as the day progressed. Most of the clouds
were a result of the rapid warming during the late morning hours
and a south-westerly breeze brought even more warm air to the
area. We are well above the average temperatures again today and
it feels more like a spring or early summer day than fall.

Temperatures have warmed into the mid 70s by noon. The dew point
has also been high, holding in the upper 50s, which is partially
to blame for the hazy conditions here at Blue Hill. Though with
the increase in temperatures, the relative humidity has dropped
significantly, making it a great day for outdoor activities.

The wind was light for most of the morning but a few nice breezes
came through in the early afternoon. Wind has mostly been from the
WSW and south directions. The average speed for the day so far is
around 8mph. The peak gust so far is 22mph, which occurred just
before 12pm.

Visibility has been limited to around 30 miles throughout the day
due to haziness and higher dew point values.

The maximum temperature so far today is 74F, which is 8 degrees
above the normal high of 66F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 54F, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 49F.
